I always love reading Tijan’s books. The first book I read was Fallen Crest High (Fallen Crest Series), I was so captivated I began reading everything that she has written.
Today I am giving my thoughts on Bennett Mafia. Thanks to Nina for providing an earc of this book
SUMMARY:
There were always whispers about my roommate at Hillcrest Academy.
The wealthiest of the wealthy sent their kids to our boarding school, and Brooke Bennett had been at the top, though I never quite knew why. She was fun and outgoing, but she kept quiet about her family. The only things she showed me were photographs of her brothers.
I became fascinated with her second-oldest brother. Kai Bennett.
He was the mostof them all. Smoldering. Hypnotic. Alluring.
Kai had eyes that pulled me in and a face that haunted my dreams.
Then I met him.
He came to our school with their father, and that’s when I learned what kind of family Brooke came from. They were mafia, and Brooke’s oldest brother was dead. Her father said accident, but Brooke said murder.
Three months later, her father died, and Kai became the head of the Bennett Family. Brooke left Hillcrest for good, and that was the last time I saw her.
Fourteen years later, I’m staring at her face on the television. Brooke is missing.
Two days later, Kai Bennett kidnaps me.

Bennett Mafia: Captivating, Page-turner….
I love the unpredictability of Tijan’s books. The storyline of Bennett Mafia has many twist, turns, angst and sexiness.
“Kai held me in the air and wrapped one of his arms around both mine, securing them to my sides and he put his other arm around my legs. I could only try to get free the way I had with the guard, but Kai was ready for it.”
Everything is not as it seems and the more you dive into the book, the more secrets are revealed.
Kai is the leader of the Bennett family. He is dark and brooding. Ever fierce, calculating and smart. His first and most important priority is taking care of his family. He will do anything to eliminate anyone that will bring them harm. The things he does makes him seem cold and heartless. Tijan does a great job pealing back the onion a little at a time showing the man behind the mask.
The image I got of Riley is a little Tomb Raider. Riley has left her life behind for a life that gives her purpose. Riley is smart and tenacious. She is fighter with strong morals, and conviction. You are drawn in to the world that Riley is a part of; is it the CIA, a cult. What is Hider? Tijan’s keeps the readers guessing. Again, the unpredictability. When it’s revealed my thought was “WOW”.
Riley has many misconceptions about Kai and sees him has the devil. Again, everything isn’t really as they seem. The sexual tension between Kai and Riley leaped off the pages. I loved how Tijan built the relationship between Kai and Riley, giving them depth.
Overall: Bennett Mafia storyline is captivating and a page-turner. It’s well written and angst and unpredictability draws you into to the story.
