This is how I am kicking off my 2020, my first review for the year. I must say this story had me at a lost for a little bit, just a little bit. Check out my thoughts on this new paranormal elemental story by one of my go to authors Bethany-Kris.

MY THOUGHTS
The Hunted… A Dark Fascinating twist of a beloved fairy tale.
Everyone knows the story of the Little Mermaid but this story is not all flowers and poses.
The essence and goodness of Arelle still remained. The girl that has a mind of her own and is defiant till the end.
Eryx (love the spelling) is the twist. He is dark, sexy, and a bit melancholy.
The storyline is intriguing. It may take a chapter or two to get into the storyline because we know the classic fairytale and your brain will keep trying to tell you that the story is wrong. Once I got over that hump and allowed myself to let go, I became so submerged into the plot. This dark mermaid world. I loved it. The pages kept turning and I couldn’t get enough.
The story has depth and the supporting cast is excellent. Mattue is devious and pure evil, he puts Ursula to shame.
Bethany-Kris has painted a captivating world, under the sea and on land. I felt as if I was hovering above and watching the story play out.
Overall the book is a great start to this new series. I cannot wait next book is out. If you love the little mermaid with a dash of darkness. This story is a MUST for you.
