#FridayReview Crave by Tracy Wolff #paranormal #bookreview #scifi

A few weeks back I told I was in the mood to read a paranormal book. Searching my Kindle I found Crave by Tracy Wolff and was intrigued by the synopsis.

Check out my thoughts below.

SYNOPSIS

My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods…or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there’s Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. But there’s something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what’s broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.

Crave is an easy read.

Grace moves to Alaska after her parents are murdered to live with her uncle and cousin. Her uncle is the headmaster for a private academy.

Immediately after meeting Jaxon, Grace becomes enthralled and obsessed with him.

The premise of the book was intriguing but Grace became annoying quickly. The naivety that she constantly displayed was exhausting. She had no sense of self protection or self preservation.

The author was writing a book that was kind of like Twilight but for me it missed the mark. The angst was there but it became quickly obvious why and who was causing issues.

The sub characters were good. Flint’s character was charismatic and alluring. Lia was conniving and you could understand her pain and why she did what she did.

Overall it was simple.
